Bedroom Design : Layout

The layout is one of the most important aspects of your bedroom design. Coming up with a layout that feels good and works well can make all the difference in the world.

Try to position the bed so that you do not walk directly into it when you enter the room. If this is your only option then try to place a bench or trunk at the foot of the bed.

Try to play up any view you may have and don't block your windows with a bed or dresser.

Another layout tip is to create separate areas. As you can see in the image, this unconventional layout and use of walls gives the room two separate areas, a sleeping area and a sitting area. Even if you don't have room for a separate sitting area, it is often helpful to have some kind of seating available, whether with a simple chair for putting on shoes or a trunk that can double as a bench.
