Faux Painting - Dragging

Dragging is a Faux Finish method used with paints, stains, or glazes. It requires the use of a paint brush, whisk broom, or other objects that can create a comb or stria affect.

Dragging is best achieved with oil paints or stains. The oil allows for a longer drying time and this gives you ample time to get the affect you desire before it completely dries. With a longer drying time if you find your not liking the outcome you have time to start over.

Dragging, stippling, sponging, and other faux painting techniques are most appreciated when combined with other faux finishes on walls and furniture. The wallpaper affect they create is amazing.
