Guest Rooms : Preparing for Overnight Guests

When you have guests staying overnight in your home, you want them to feel comfortable. Being prepared before they get there will help your guests feel right at home.

Think of how you feel when you stay at a nice hotel and try to emulate that feeling in your guest room. Make sure that your bed and linens are as comfortable as you can make them, even if it is just a pull-out couch in your office.

Leave a small snack tray and a few bottles of water in your guest room. Guests will often feel uncomfortable rustling through your kitchen in the middle of the night if they get hungry or thirsty so leaving snacks ensures they do not have to worry about bothering anyone.

A few empty drawers and a side chair are also good to add when you are preparing your guest room. The chair gives them something to sit on while reading before bed or putting on their shoes while the empty drawers give them the luxury of not living completely out of their luggage.
