Kitchen Tile : Choosing the Right Tile

There are many things to look for when choosing the kitchen tile that will best work for your needs and your design style.

The basics of choosing kitchen tile involve finding the right size, color, material and pattern for your lifestyle.

Slate or terra cotta tiles are great for homes with kids or that enjoy casual living. Homes that are more formal may look into marble or limestone.

Before choosing tile, discuss with your flooring professional where you will be placing the tile as some tiles, such as limestone, may not work in areas that get a lot of water, for instance, in front of the kitchen sink.

Think about your transitions when choosing kitchen tile as well, you may be going from carpet or hardwood to tile and the type of tile you use can make a big difference.
