The definition of modern is right now or the present time. This means that what is considered modern, whether it be, décor, cars, or clothing, changes as the time changes. Modern area rugs also run up against this non-specific definition. Modern area rugs can best be described as a mixture of contemporary and transitional designs.

Many modern area rugs have contemporary aspects. Cold is often a word used to explain contemporary designs, though this isn’t as true any more. Contemporary homes can now be just as comfortable as casual homes.

Transitional styling also finds its way into modern area rug styling. Transitional means moving from one style to another, generally a transition from traditional styles to contemporary styles.

There are many different colors and patterns available in modern area rugs. Find a modern area rug for your home that best fits your décor and personality.
